Dinner for One

Hello friends!

Do you know the comedy TV sketch 'Dinner for One' also known as The 90th birthday?
It's very funny and a big tradition in Germany to watch this on New Year's eve every year.
I saw this motif on tissue paper and I admired the wonderful colors and thought very good,
this must be a new altered project.

- Just for FUN -

I used a lot of DecoArt colors and textures for the frame:
Chalky Finish paints - Yesteryear, Artifact, Relic and Rustic
Wheathered Wood Crackle Medium
Creme wax Deep brown
Modeling Paste Black
 Mixed Media Stencil 'Old film'

I hope it's a little inspiration for you to try some other techniques and styles,
I love this time in my laboratory :-)!

Merry Christmas

Welcome!

I love fireplaces especially on christmas time, it's a wonderful tradition to hang up socks for every family member. Unfortunately I haven't a fireplace and so I decided to make this in a small format.

I used papers from various christmas/ winter collections from Maja Design papers

Gnistra

Die cut sheet

 Christmas time
Emphera

Some steps and tips for you

As basic an old black wooden frame and the 'Gnistra' paper sheet as wonderful neutral background
added with some torned pieces from old music paper, inked with Distress walnut stain

 Highlight was the fireplace.
I saw some months ago an idea on Pinterest where a simple plastic frame was used,
I was impressed and went in search for the right frame.
I found this in a One Euro Store, the frame was square
and so I just had to remove the bottom part
really simple, but a cool effect!

some close up's

some dies with Maja papers - Hanging socks, Holiday leaves
a Santa portrait from 'Emphera' Joyous winterdays, as picture in a shabby chic metal frame

Let it snow

Hello!

I'm back with my next christmas/ winter layout :-)

Let it snow , let it snow

When Christmas carols ring out, the air is filled with the aromas of homemade cookies and gingerbreads and the christmas tree is standing, then is the best time of the year.
And everyone has only one wish 'Let it snow, let it snow... or I'm dreaming of a white christmas' well known christmas songs allover the world
and it's always a pleasure to hear this songs again and again.

Driving home

Welcome!

It's a beautiful tradition in our family to hear, play and sing christmas songs.

Do you know the wonderful christmas song 'Driving home for christmas' ?!
it's one of my favourite christmas songs just like this old photo motif
and so I used this as inspiration for my new christmas layout in vintage style.

used products can you find here

 some details

an amazing picture and I thought it's a cool idea
to use Joy Mini with a light bulb as front part
for the car
only 70 ...50 ...30 ...miles more
then I'll be home :-)

the word FAMILY means for me traditions, one of them is driving home for christmas
you count the miles until you finally get home and
so I used the handwritten numbers only 70 ...50 ...30 ...miles more on tags

CSI No 244
Evidence: Christmas/ winter, car, lamps, stencil, vintage/retro
Testimony: Document christmas

Welcome!

Today I want to share with you some cards, which I have made with
some wonderful papers from Maja Design.
I was also inspired from the theme at Frilly and Funkie - Most memorable gift -
and so I used my first embossing folder from Sizzix.
It was a gift from a good friend some years ago.

I'll be home

Welcome!

Today a new inspiration for your christmas home decoration.
I was inspired to make this from two little houses
which I found in the Calico Craft Parts Store, really wonderful and
together with the paper dolls from Tim Holtz
a perfect addition for a small christmas/ winter scene.

My basic was a grey wooden heart, two houses and christmas trees and a small lantern.
I used some products from Decoart - Decoupage glue 'Antique', Snow -Tex and Weathered Wood Crackle Medium, Crackle white paint
and diluted with water 13arts Ayeeda Paint Vivid Vintage

I love it to use old music paper

this crackle medium is always a good idea for an altered look

Enjoy this time for Maja Design

Welcome friends!

Baby, it's could outside ... because it's Winter time :-)
Cozy time is coming! Time for long evenings with candlelight and good food. Time for
warm sweaters and cuddly socks.

I'm also a big fan from unique papers without motifs, because you have so many opportunities to create your background with stamps or watercolours and it's always a perfect combination to all the other beautiful delicate papers from Maja Design.

First I primed the background with clear gesso, then I started by working my background with blue and white spray color ink and added some winter feeling stamps, like snowflakes, snowman, old trees.

used Maja Design papers from following collections

some close up's

I love the color combi blue and brown with accents of white and black

some little silver stars for a bright and shiny effect
together with a leftover from a cuddly knit ribbon
and some cut stripes from the 'Wood' paper

 I know that I'm home ...

some highlights with chipboards from Dusty Attic and some cutting dies
with texture and 'Blizzard' paper

I was inspired from this moodboards
I was inspired from this wonderful shades of the colour blue

Evidence:  christmas winter elements, wood, deer head, solid background
Testimony: Inspiration words home, joy, shine

Many thanks for your visit!
Have a wonderful advent  weekend!
